Composite Bonding Helps You Reshape and Repair Minor Tooth Irregularities
Chipped front tooth? Gaps between the teeth? Composite bonding is a perfect choice! This procedure is a restorative treatment similar to tooth colored fillings, but that is used to correct minor irregularities or discrepancies of the teeth.
Bonding Can be Placed Almost Anywhere
Whether you have an irregularly shaped tooth, chipped enamel, or even an area of exposed root surface, composite bonding may be the answer that you’ve been looking for.
When bonding is placed onto your tooth, it fuses directly with the porous tooth enamel, helping to hold it in place no matter where it is in your mouth. This allows it to be used in areas that conventional dental fillings can’t.
What Does it Look Like?
Just like a tooth! The soft composite material is placed on the area of concern and then shaped into whatever form is needed. Dr. Elsa uses a special instrument to shape the material so that it fits tightly against the tooth and helps the tooth to look whole once again. Once the desired form is achieved, the material is hardened with a bright curing light until it is strong just like a filling.
Before you have bonding placed on your tooth, Dr. Elsa will use a shade guide to select which color of material will look the most natural. This allows the final restoration to blend in with the tooth once it is cured. In fact, our bonding treatments look so great; you won’t even be able to tell that they’re there!
